Timeless wisdom is hard to improve on

WeThePeopleI read a great guest post today on my favorite new finance site zerohedge discussing why liberals hate The Constitution. Give it a read and see if you don’t agree. It takes a lot of arrogance to think that timeless sources of wisdom such as The Bible and The Constitution need to be modified because we have somehow evolved as a species enough to where they are no longer useful. The Constitution must be protected because without it government is free to continue to encroach on personal liberties to the point where we become a collectivist society. This is not the structure that the Founding Father’s laid down for The Unites States of America and you are not free to change it on a whim because you do not like it. What part of inalienable rights don’t you understand? There are plenty of collectivist societies out there if that is what floats your boat but it is not your right to change this country into one. Individual liberties and the freedom to make your own destiny is what enabled our country to be the greatest nation on earth and what can help us regain that glory if we had the uncommon sense. I have assigned¬† myself a homework assignment of rereading the Constitution over the weekend.

I don’t understand this driving need to transform the United States into something you can find in, what, 80 or 90% of other countries? If these people love collectivism so much, there are many other places to move to, but for an individualist, not so much.

Agreed the sons of liberty are a dying breed. A land that promotes individual liberty is going to be harder and harder to come by.
